NFL Calendar 2014: Key dates for April and May

The NFL offseason is about to heat up, with teams around the league beginning their offseason workout programs and the NFL Draft just around the corner. There will also be a number of deadlines that will affect players contracts and league meetings to discuss the progression of the game, so there will be a lot to take in over the next few weeks.

Thankfully, the plan is laid out and we can get a quick look at when each key date of the offseason will be taking place.

Here are the key dates for the next two months, via Pro Football Talk:

April 21: Offseason workouts begin for: Arizona, Atlanta, Baltimore, Carolina, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Kansas City, Miami, New England, New Orleans, N.Y. Giants, N.Y. Jets, Philadelphia, St. Louis, San Francisco, Seattle.

April 22: Offseason workouts begin for: Buffalo, Chicago, Green Bay, Oakland, Pittsburgh, San Diego.  (Note: Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Minnesota, Tampa Bay, Tennessee and Washington all began workouts on April 7.)

May 2: Final day to sign restricted free agents.

May 3: Deadline to extend contracts of 2011 first-round picks for a fifth year.

May 7: Final day to match offer sheets to restricted free agents.

May 8-10: 2014 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

May 19-21: NFL Spring League Meeting in Atlanta.

May 27: OTAs (Organized Team Activities) begin for most teams.
