Sunday afternoon in the NBA Playoffs has been one of the more emotional days of the year as the recent Leukemia diagnosis for legendary TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager is still fresh in all of our minds. It just so happens as well that the Spurs vs. Mavericks game today is on TNT, also meaning that the yin to Sager’s yang, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, is in action.

During the game today, Pop actually gave a heartwarming interview to Sager’s son, Craig Jr., in which he delivered a personal message right to the camera for his old friend whom he’s had multiple short interviews with throughout the years.

But that personal message on national television wasn’t all that Pop had for Sager on Sunday.

Right after the interview, Sager Jr. noted that Popovich gave him a handwritten note to give to his dad.

Another classy move by Popovich who, despite all of the less-than-long-winded interviews he’s given Sager throughout the years, obviously has his good friend close to his heart during this difficult time.
