On Tuesday, the Detroit Lions hosted a visit with one of the more popular players in this year’s crop of NFL Draft talent in Buffalo linebacker Khalil Mack. While wide receiver has been one of the key positions of focus for the Lions as we head toward the event, should Mack fall to them at 10 they would have a difficult decision on their hands, because taking the defensive stud would be hard to pass on.

But how does Mack feel about the possibility of playing on the new Detroit defense under head coach Jim Caldwell? According to what he told the team’s official website right after the meeting, he’d be pretty excited about it, especially getting the chance to play with guys like Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley.

“Just talking to coaches you can’t help but get excited,” Mack told DetroitLions.com. “Just being able to mentioned with and play with a guy like (Ndamukong) Suh and (Nick) Fairley and all those guys inside.”

Of course, adding Mack to that already dangerous mix would be something exciting to watch play out as that Lions defensive unit continually develops each season.
