The Dallas Cowboys made a small splash at the quarterback position earlier in the offseason when they agreed to a deal with former Cleveland Browns’ first round pick Brandon Weeden.

The Cowboys also have veteran Kyle Orton on the roster, but Orton has not shown up to voluntary offseason workouts and there have been several rumors that Orton could retire.

According to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago, the Cowboys have agreed to a one-year deal with free agent quarterback Caleb Hanie.

Hanie, who most recently was with the Cleveland Browns, was best known for his stint with the Chicago Bears. He played in two games in both 2009 and 2010 and also was forced into action in the 2010-11 NFC Championship Game. In 2011, he played in six games, completing 51 of 102 passes for 613 yards with three touchdowns and nine interceptions.
