Sprint to unlock devices in 2015

In what has long been since dubbed largely a taboo and off-limits practice by phone companies, Sprint has decided to take a new stance on unlocking phones and devices in 2015.  The information is substantial both in what it means for consumers, and what it will do to the secondary market of those providing unlocking services.

Sprint makes sure to put its legal foot forward first, noting that not every device will be allowed to go through its unlocking protocol.  Also, Sprint notes that just because a device is unlocked, doesn’t mean that all functionality will be acceptable for use on another carriers network.  Understanding the protocols and process will help consumers to decide whether or not unlocking their device is in their best interests.
