The Arizona Diamondbacks (7-18) currently hold one of the worst records in professional baseball. Tonight they”ll take on the 11-11 Philadelphia Phillies after defeating the Chicago Cubs by the score of 5-2 yesterday afternoon.

It was frustrating to watch that game considering I’m a Cubs fan. Renteria should have pulled Strop after he allowed the bases to become loaded, but no. Anyways, big man Mark Trumbo is having himself a great start with the Diamondbacks, that is until the club found out that he was going to miss six weeks with a stress fracture in his left foot according to Jack Magruder on Twitter.

Mark Trumbo has seen 81 at-bats so far to start off the season and has seven home runs with 19 RBI’s. The former Los Angeles Angel has a batting line of .210/.264/.506 with an OPS of .711.

He homered against the Chicago Cubs on April 21, which was the last game that he appeared in. The Diamondbacks will need Trumbo to return once he’s 100 percent. There’s no need to rush it, considering how early it is. But his absence won’t go unnoticed.

Arizona will roll with Gerardo Parra, Cody Ross and A.J. POllock with Trumbo shelved.
