The Boston Celtics didn’t pull the trigger on a big trade at the deadline back in February but they seem to be in the market to make one in the offseason. According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, the Celtics are making Jeff Green available in a trade, at the right price of course.

Boston’s price for Green will no doubt be high as they benefit in no way from just giving him away or settling for less. The only question would be if anyone is interested in Green at the price the Celtics set, which is something to follow as we approach the draft.

Green isn’t a first option though, he’s more of a fourth option on the floor and that’s not something many teams may want to pay a ransom for. Still, there is value in grabbing Green if a team needs a solid player in the role that Green can fill and that may lead to a trade.

Boston is unlikely to lower the price on Green but as we near the draft, we may see them adjust their demands which would allow for a team to swoop in and offer them a deal everyone likes. Don’t expect another draft day blockbuster, but Green moving in a deal then is far from being out of the question.
