The rumors surrounding Steve Kerr becoming the next head coach of the New York Knicks are gaining a little traction this weekend.

Kerr is going to be part of TNT’s broadcast team for Sunday’s Game 4 between the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors, and this has led some to believe that he will meet with new Knicks president and GM, Phil Jackson, while in town.

According to the New York Post, not only is Kerr possibly going to meet with Jackson regarding the Knicks coaching vacancy, but he is also slated to meet with his agent, former New York Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum.

"“The Post reported Kerr is being represented by former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, who was known in NFL circles as a top-flight negotiator.”"

During a press conference on Wednesday, Jackson commented on possibly meeting with Kerr and on his candidacy for the job, saying that he and Kerr have “philosophically, a strong connection.’’

It will be interesting to see how the meetings pan out, and if any progress is made. There have been reports that Kerr would prefer a west coast destination rather than the bright lights of New York. He may be waiting to see what other coaching vacancies come about before giving an answer to his former coach from his Chicago days.
