It seems as if the Donald Sterling-dominated day has reached it’s peak.
In Memphis to celebrate the achievements of a small-market team and view game 4 of Thunder-Grizzlies which has been an excellent series, league commissioner Adam Silverwas forced to speak on the matter that’s kept the NBA world abuzz since late last night. And of course, Twitter, as it usually does, commented away, giving their thoughts on the situation.
Here are a few reactions we caught during Adam Silver’s press conference which include personal opinion and some recap from Silvers conference.
Wow, new commissioner Adam Silver just announced Michael Heisley passed away today! RIP Mr Heisley. Thoughts and prayers are with his family

Adam Silver: “The audio recording posting by TMZ is truly offensive and disturbing and we intend to get to the bottom of it ASAP.”
— Alex Kennedy (@AlexKennedyNBA) April 27, 2014
Silver- “I personally think that this is most unfair to the Clippers players and coaches, who have to deal with such a distraction.”

Adam Silver is a lawyer. He’s making the right move investigating before punishing Sterling. Get it right. Don’t prejudice the process.

Silver said Donald Sterling has agreed not to attend Sunday’s playoff game.

Silver tells me that right now, Sterling’s past racial controversies will play into this situation right now.

FOH. CLIPPERS HAVE COME OUT AND SAID HE WAS ON THE DAMN VOICEMAIL. WHAT MORE INVESTIGATION DO YOU NEED.

Adam Silver said the “saddest part” of Sterling debacle was that the Clippers have to deal with this during Playoffs. THAT’S THE SAD PART?!?

“@rodimusprime: The fact that Adam Silver isn’t exactly sure WHICH incident Adande is referring to? That’s how racist Sterling is.”
— Sophia (@Sophiabiabia) April 27, 2014
Silver worked in the league office but didn’t know about Sterling’s past misdeeds? #sideeye
— Vincent Goodwill (@vgoodwill) April 27, 2014
Adam Silver got that Gus Fring vibe to him. Might be a kingpin on the low.
— LOL Clinton-Dix (@BlakePiffin) April 27, 2014
This is complicated and difficult, and Adam Silver is giving me no confidence whatsoever in what he’s going to do. Hope he surprises me.
— Bruce Arthur (@bruce_arthur) April 27, 2014
Exactly this. RT @A_W_Gordon Silver sounds like a man protecting someone rather than investigating something.
— Brian Phillips (@runofplay) April 27, 2014
Silver said, “We do hope to have this wrapped up in the next few days.” His most direct, necessary answer.
— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) April 27, 2014
Lmao RT @seth_rosenthal I really really really believe in due process but goddammit can’t we just poison the guy and move on
— Sportychyck (@sportychyck) April 27, 2014
I see where this could be going, NBA going to say they can’t 100% sure verify the tape and then Sterling will walk away scott free
— Robert Littal (@BlkSportsOnline) April 27, 2014
Whaddya want? Silver to yell out “KING OF THE NORTH” and rush Staples Center. It’s a legal process.
— Jared Wade (@Jared_Wade) April 27, 2014
Yes. This. All of this. RT @courtside: “David Stern would’ve…” No. David Stern did, and only did, slap Sterling on the wrist.
— Noam Schiller (@noamschiller) April 27, 2014
Y’all want the players to boycott and Silver to present Sterlings head on a pike but you’re still gonna watch that game tomorrow aren’t you?
— Myles Brown (@mdotbrown) April 27, 2014
If I’m reading tea leaves, Silver is saying (in circuitous lawyerly fashion) if this holds up as authentic, expect hellfire and damnation.
