Donald Sterling is banned for life from the NBA after racist comments were revealed over the weekend and league commissioner Adam Silver dropped the hammer on the Los Angeles Clippers owner–for now–and the reaction wasn’t just limited to the NBA world as the NFL community reacted with praise for Silver’s decision.

Executive Director of the NFL player’s association, DeMaurice Smith, said there was no room for racists in sport.

Seahawks owner and also owner of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, Paul Allen, supports the action and praised the league’s leadership.

My personal favorite is from the Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe as the justice was swift and harsh as it needed to be. The league is in great hands with Adam Silver as its commissioner and after only being on the job since the start of the year has already cemented his legacy in NBA history with this unprecedented decision.
