Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is coming off back surgery ahead of the 2014 season, the second offseason he has spent recovering from an operation. Heading into the season there is some concern about whether he will be the same Romo, but his friend and tight end Jason Witten says he is throwing the ball as well as ever.

“He is throwing good,” said Witten, via the Dallas Morning News. “I have caught a lot of balls over the years and it’s the same zip, same as always. He looks good.”

In early March, Romo said his rehabilitation was going well.

“It’s going good,” Romo told ESPN.”We’re getting close now to [returning]. Usually takes three months, it’s just normal kinda roundabout date that they give ya and we’re right on schedule. Really ahead in a lot of ways. Just going to be ready to go here in about a month and rehab is going good, no setbacks of any kind. Mine [surgery] was just a normal small version of it, so I should be good to go here shortly.”
