Steve Kerr has become a hot property in terms of future NBA coaches, having been linked to the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and now, the Golden State Warriors.

Reportedly, Kerr is set to make a decision after the weekend, with some saying his decision hinges on what Knicks All-Star Carmelo Anthony intends to do.

But Kerr’s decision could depend on more than that.

If the Golden State Warriors lose their Game 7 matchup to the Los Angeles Clippers, there are some who feel that Warriors head coach Mark Jackson will be shown the door. Should that happen, Kerr may get a call from Golden State and many believe that Kerr would go with the Warriors over the Knicks if given the opportunity, according to a New York Post report.

Mark Jackson has a great relationship with his players, but isn’t on the same page with Golden State ownership and upper management. A first round playoff failure could be the opening needed for them to find a new coach.

The other Jackson in this scenario – Phil – feels confident that Kerr will end up going with the Knicks.
