The Houston Texans currently own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and they’re still deciding what to do, trade it or who to take. If the Texans were to trade down, ESPN’s Ed Werder said on “On The Clock” that he thinks Central Florida Knights quarterback Blake Bortles would likely be the quarterback target for the Texans.

It is interesting to see that there is still a discussion about trading down, it isn’t very often that we see a team move down from the No. 1 overall pick, but Werder thinks they can. Werder also thinks the Falcons are a potential trade partner and they have their sights set on South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

That would move the Texans back to sixth, and Bortles could likely still be there. While Texans owner Bob McNair “loves” Johnny Manziel, new head coach Bill O’Brien is reportedly more interested in a more “prototypical-looking quarterback.”
