Prior to a tape recording being his inevitable downfall, Donald Sterling’s racism was brought to the forefront by former Los Angeles Clippers employee and Hall of Fame forward Elgin Baylor. In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Baylor stated that justice has finally been served as the racist Clippers owner has been banned for life from the NBA.

“Justice has been served. Now they know what Donald is like, and the things I said before about Donald are absolutely true.”

In 2011, Baylor filed a lawsuit against the Clippers, claiming that he was fired as general manager due to his age and race. Within the lawsuit, Baylor claimed that Sterling would objectify the players in front of women while in the locker room, stating “Look at those beautiful black bodies.” Also Baylor unfairly compensated black players because of their race.

Considering all of what Baylor went through as an employee of the Los Angeles Clippers, you can tell that he’s a bit happy how things went down, if only because it clarified everything that he stated in his lawsuit. In a tape recording that shocked the world, Baylor was re-introduced to a monster that he once dealt with previously in his life. It was nothing new to the Hall of Famer.

“It didn’t surprise me … at all. That’s the Donald Sterling I know.”
