It’s been a year since George Karl was let go by the Denver Nuggets despite winning Coach of the Year for his efforts in turning them around. But while he’s been kicking around ESPN doing analyst work, he may be back on the hardwood this offseason.

According to a Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, former Denver Nuggets head coach and Coach of the Year George Karl is very interested in the Lakers job and expects a call soon. Karl said that he’s not actively putting his name out there for the job because he’s ‘respecting the process’.

Still, Karl listed off almost every team that needs a head coach when he referenced wanting to get back into coaching which means he’s not married to the idea of coaching the Lakers. It’s worth noting that he mentioned the Warriors and Pistons job in the sam sentence as the Lakers job which either means he’s going to jump at anything that is thrown at him or he views all three jobs in equal light.
