The Houston Texans have been open to trading the No. 1 overall pick for a while now, but just because the pick if for sale does not in anyway mean it’s on-sale. Teams may want to trade up to get the No. 1 pick but the Texans are slapping a price tag on it that suggests they’re not so willing to part with it after all.

Either it’s because the Texans know what they have in the No. 1 pick or they’re daring teams to talk them out of using it, the Houston Chronicle is reporting that the trade demands for the top pick is a pick in the first three rounds of this year’s draft plus a 2015 second rounder.

Ralph Wiggum was able to buy The Simpsons house for a box of crayons and a carton of chocolate milk, so the Texans may be jacking up the price just a little bit. But in all seriousness, it appears that this is an offer from a team who doesn’t really want to trade down tom No. 1 overall and is seeing if they can be talked into doing so.

It also could be a case where some loser puts up nosebleed seats to a Sixers game for sale on StubHub priced at $1,000 just to see if some poor sap will buy them. Houston may lower their price but at this point they have no good reason to not ask for everything and more in a trade.
