With the 36th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft on Friday night, the Oakland Raiders looked toward the one position that they were reportedly high on as they selected Fresno State QB Derek Carr to come in and potentially run the offense.

Carr was one of the more consistent performers over the past four seasons, but 2013 was by far the year that showcased him to the nation. In nearly leading the Bulldogs to a BCS appearance, Carr tossed for 5,083 yards with 50 TDs. In his career, Carr finished up with nearly 13,000 yards through the air and 113 scores.

This is the Raiders’ second pick in the draft after they went for help on the defensive side of the ball in the first round by taking linebacker Khalil Mack, showing that this organization is committed to bettering themselves on both sides of the ball as they look to compete in the AFC West.

Carr has been on their radar for quite some time now and in the end it worked out in their favor early on here in Round 2.
