The Donald Sterling saga seems far from being over, but it will no doubt in the end cost him his ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers. But while Donald Sterling is on the outs in Los Angeles, his wife Shelly is jockeying to retain ownership of the team after her husband is ultimately banned from every aspect of the NBA.

According to ESPN Los Angeles, should Shelly Sterling — who some are starting to paint in the same light as Donald — retain control of the team, it could cause a rift between Doc Rivers and the organization.

Per Ramona Shelburne:

"“I don’t even want to comment on it because I don’t know yet,” Rivers said. “I think it would be a very hard situation, I’ll say that much. I think it would be very difficult. I guarantee you every person wouldn’t be on board with it. Whether I would or not, I’m not going to say, I just know that would be a very difficult situation for everybody.”"

Despite trying to paint a picture as an innocent bystander to Donald Sterling’s racist ways, many are starting to clue into Shelly Sterling possibly being just as corrupt as her husband is. If anything, her blasé attitude toward Sterling’s racism and her financial benefit off of it seems to suggest she’s having regrets about her husband in hindsight as we heard nothing of Shelly distancing herself before this.

It’s clear that the entire Sterling name is tainted thanks to Donald and we won’t have matters settled until a different name is at the top of the list as owner of the Clippers.
