There was a lot of talk about what the New England Patriots would do when it came to the quarterback position and it only took one round for them to figure things out. After failing to trade for Mike Glennon — or being uninterested in doing so — the Patriots went ahead and took a project quarterback in the second round with the No. 62 overall pick.

With that No. 62 pick, the Patriots drafted Eastern Illinois quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

The idea now is that while Ryan Mallett was a cute idea, he isn’t the guy the Patriots want to succeed Tom Brady and that now may end up being Garoppolo. He seems like a Belichick guys through and through and has ample time to learn under Brady and hone his skills in his image.
