The Minnesota Vikings were rumored to be interested in Louisville quarterback Tedd Bridgewater with the No. 8 overall pick and then again at No. 9 when they traded back with the Cleveland Browns. Those same Cleveland Browns duped the Vikings later on and took Johnny Manziel No. 22 overall which prompted the Vikings to move back into the first round to draft Teddy Bridgewater.

Ultimately, the Vikings got a guy who was the No. 1 overall pick a few months ago at No. 32 and they couldn’t be happier. It’s not all roses though, as a report surfaced after the draft that noted Bridgewater had an abnormal heartbeat, something that could have contributed to his fall.

“Bridgewater says he didnt know he had any heart issue,” USA Today’s Tom Pelissero reported after the draft. “No other teams checked him on it. Thinks it is no issue.”

The draft also may have just shaken out the way it did and Bridgewater’s fall might have had little to do with his draft day skid, but it’s still more than notable. Nevertheless, Minnesota seems unfazed by the medical report and if it’s being deemed a non-issue, then it’s not something we can knock Bridgewater about unless it becomes a problem — in which case we’d be more worried about Bridgewater than cynical.
