The New York Giants needed to address the departure of wide receiver Hakeem Nicks in the 2014 NFL Draft and that is exactly what they did in the first round with their 12th overall pick. They used the selection on LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr..

The other glaring need for the Giants was at the tight end position, which they didn’t address in the draft.
