With the NFL Draft entering its final day, one of the names we will be watching very closely is former Missouri pass rusher Michael Sam, who if drafted would become the first openly gay player to enter the NFL.

But aside from the social impact his drafting would have, it’d be more about football and that’s what as many as four teams are focusing on as we enter the final rounds. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Ravens, Giants, Patriots and Cardinals are all looking at Sam as a potential draft pick.

Nothing is certain and it’s very possible that the undersized Sam goes undrafted, but there’s a chance gets taken in the later rounds. We heard yesterday that the San Francisco 49ers could deb interested in Sam as well, which means if he slips into rounds six or seven, someone could take a chance on him and see if he can develop into a star.
