The Baltimore Ravens are always candidates to have one of the best drafts as long as Ozzie Newsome is the team’s general manager and the Hall of Fame tight end had another stellar draft for this club who missed the playoffs after winning the Super Bowl the year prior.

Best pick: C.J. Mosley

Worst pick: Crockett Gilmore

Analysis: Mosley gives the Ravens a versatile linebacker who is used to playing in a 3-4 defense and should be a starter from Day 1 and be a candidate to make multiple Pro Bowls. I loved the pick of Timmy Jernigan in the second round and he is a player who can help stop the run all along the defensive line.

The pick of Gilmore in the third round was a bit of a reach for me to take a blocking tight end, but it’s something they don’t have on the roster with Dennis Pitta and Owen Daniels, so I understand the desire to get an in-line blocker like him.

Day 3 picks I really liked were Brent Urban who is a giant defensive line prospect, Penn State guard John Urschel and Ball State quarterback Keith Wenning who can overtake Tyrod Taylor as the team’s No. 2 quarterback.
