2014 NFL Draft Grades: Washington Redskins
By Josh Hill
The NFL Draft has come and gone and it’s now time to reflect on how each team did despite the fact that we won’t really know until much further into the future. Still, we can get a fell of how players might do in their immediate careers based off of what they did in college and how well they fit into the systems they were drafted into.
For the Washington Redskins, they didn’t own a first round pick but still managed to put together a decent draft class.
Draft Picks
Pick | Player |
---|---|
2.15 | Trent Murphy, LB, Stanford |
3.2 | Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia |
3.14 | Spencer Long, OG, Nebraska |
4.2 | Bashaud Breeland, CB, Clemson |
5.2 | Ryan Grant, WR , Tulane |
6.10 | Lache Seastrunk, RB , Baylor |
7.2 | Ted Bolser, TE, Indiana |
7.13 | Zach Hocker, K, Arkansas |
Best Pick: Trent Murphy/LB/Stanford
The Redskins remed to covet Murphy from the start and they traded down to get him, which makes the pick even sweeter. He’s going to fit right into the defense and will not only compliment the linebackers the Redskins already have but he’ll be able to start working his way into replacing the one they can’t afford down the road.
Worst Pick: Zach Hocker/K/Arkansas
This is more of a reflection on who the Redskins passed on as opposed to who they picked. For a team that is embroiled in controversy thanks to it’s name, drafting Michael Sam could have helped the team both on and off the field. It wouldn’t have fixed all of their problems, but adding Sam would have been a step in the right direction of tolerance but instead the Redskins drafted a kicker.
2014 Draft Grade: C+
