Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested on Tuesday for misdemeanor charges of domestic assault on his girlfriend. The details in the arrest warrant were pretty graphic and alleges that Hardy “grabbed victim, threw her to the floor and bathtub, slammed her vs. a futon and strangled her.” The Panthers said in a statement they were disappointed and there were rumors the Panthers could be looking to move on from Hardy following the incident.

We are very disappointed to learn of the allegations involving Greg and are concerned for all parties as we continue to investigate,” the Panthers said, via the Charlotte Observer.

Hardy will be released from jail on Wednesday after a judge set his bond at $17,000, according to a report from ESPN.com. Alcohol was reportedly involved in the incident and Hardy has been ordered to attend three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings per week. Hardy is also not to have and communication with his girlfriend Nicole Holder.
