Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has come a long way in his NFL career since he was drafted out of Cal by the Buffalo Bills, and that journey culminated this past February with the team’s win in the Super Bowl over the Denver Broncos. But Lynch’s long journey dates way back to before his days coming out of college, and that story will soon be told in the form of a movie.

And for the role of Lynch–well, of course, Lynch will be taking that responsibility on himself as he makes his acting debut.

The title of the movie will be “First Family,” and will chronicle Lynch’s journey from the streets of Oakland, and it’s a project that the NFL star is very excited about.

“Just trying something new,” Lynch said via ESPN.com. “For me, it’s just about having some fun. It’s just a fun experience. I also get to shine the light on the [Oakland] community and some of the things that we grew up doing and what we went through.”

Relativity Media has already purchased the rights to the movie and it will be released the end of this year.

In regards to his acting debut, Lynch concedes that he’s ready to take on the challenge.

“I’m more than ready to play myself,” Lynch said. “I got the acting bug when I played a small role in ‘Matt’s Chance’ starring Gary Busey. I definitely want to expand my opportunities after football. I’ve also been on a couple TV shows, so I’m not nervous.”

Now I guess we’ll see if Lynch can go “BeastMode” in front of the camera.
