If you forgot to DVR this morning’s episode of The View — and if you didn’t, you probably shouldn’t admit that — then you missed a significant piece of NFL news. Yeah, that’s right, The View was our go-to source for breaking NFL news on Monday morning thanks to Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

Marshall announced that he has signed a contract extension in Chicago that will be adding three years to his current deal. He is now locked up for a total of four-years and $40 million.

The wide receiver then took to social media to confirm the three-year deal will be worth $30 million. Marshall also said there would be a $1 million pledge to the Mental Health Community.

Last season, Marshall hauled in 100 catches for 1,295 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Coming off of such an impressive year, the contract extension for Marshall was well deserved.

It will now be exciting to see how Marshall and young wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey can follow up their impressive 2013 campaigns this season.
