Heat vs. Pacers Game 2: Dwyane Wade hits Paul George in head with knee (Video)

The Miami Heat are trying to get a game back against the Indiana Pacers after dropping Game 1 earlier this weekend. But while they’ve have their troubles so far in this series, the last thing the Heat need is for an injury to sideline one of their Big 3 players, and we had a scary moment late in Game 2 on Tuesday night.

Mid-way through the fourth quarter, Dwayne Wade and Paul George were scrambling for a loose ball but ended up falling over one another in the process. What resulted was George getting kneed in the back of the head twice by Wade, and Wade’s knee buckling in chilling fashion.

Obviously, this looks a lot worse for George as he received the most contact but we’ve seen knee injuries without contact takes out players for entire seasons, and anytime there’s awkward planting like Wade did on his knee it’s never a good thing.

As for George, blows to the back of the head like that usually tend to result in some sort of concussion, but he remained in the game which is a good sign. That being said, head injuries have lingering effects and the Pacers had better hope he’s only temporarily seeing stars and isn’t suffering from any grade of a concussion.

Thankfully, both players ended up being fine but the physical toll this series takes may end up being a detriment to whoever emerges to face what looks to be a fresh, if not aged, San Antonio Spurs team.
