Two of the game’s top names are playing well at the BMW PGA Championship.  Martin Kaymer was able to finish his round before play was suspended, and shot a four-under 68.  Henrik Stenson came back from the weather delay with a birdie on eighteen for a four-under 68 as well.

Martin Kaymer won The Players Championship a couple weeks ago, and continues his march back to the top spot in the World Golf Rankings.  He is currently 28th in the world.

Kaymer was a bit shaky during his opening nine with a bogey-birdie on three and four, and a birdie-bogey on eight and nine.  However, he played superb golf to start the back nine with birdies on ten, twelve, thirteen, and fourteen.  Kaymer parred the final four holes to finish at four-under 68.

World No. 3 Henrik Stenson has an opportunity to become the number one player in the world this week.  He needs to finish higher than No. 1 Adam Scott finishes at the PGA Tour’s Crowne Plaza Invitational.  Also, if No. 4 Matt Kuchar wins the Crowne Plaza, then Kuchar will become the number one golfer.

Stenson’s round was a roller coaster on the back nine.  He made the turn at two-under, and got it to five-under through fourteen.  A double-bogey on fifteen was then compounded by a bogey on sixteen.  However, Stenson bounced back nicely with birdies on the two finishing par-5s.

Both players are currently tied for fourth place (-4).
