Now that the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery has taken place and the draft order has been decided, the debate over who will be selected at which position and by which team has revved up. [category-related]

Former Kansas Jayhawks’ forward Andrew Wiggins has topped most mock drafts and his former teammate, center Joel “Embiid, has also received a few looks. Former Duke Blue Devils’ forward Jabari Parker has not been discussed nearly as much, but his peers think very highly of him.

During last week’s NBA Scouting Combine, the prospects attending were polled as to they thought the best player available was.  According to Gery Woelfel of The Racine Journal Times, the prospects believed Parker was the top available player and he dominated the voting.

"That was nearly three times the number of votes for the runner-up, center Joel Embiid of Kansas, who received 5.5 votes. And it was four times the number of votes for the third-place finisher, small forward Andrew Wiggins of Kansas, who garnered four.Kentucky power forward Julius Randle, Indiana power forward Noah Vonleh and North Carolina State small forward T.J. Warren each received one vote. So did Arizona forward Aaron Gordon and Arizona guard Nick Johnson, who just happen to be best of friends and admirers of each other’s game."

Parker averaged 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds last season.
