Angels have currently won 7/10 previous games and are currently riding a two game winning streak after picking up a complete game by Jered Weaver against the Houston Astros in the series finale.
Now before the Halos take the field against the Royals – the team announced a couple roster moves in which left-handed starting pitcher Sean Burnett was activated from the disabled list according to the team’s official Twitter handle.
The team optioned Efren Navarro to Triple-A Salt Lake as a result.
Burnett has suffered several setbacks as he has tried to return from elbow surgery. The lefty only worked through 9 2/3 innings last season with the Angels after undergoing the season ending procedure. With Burnett returning the the active roster – the Angels have optioned outfielder Efren Navarro to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Los Angeles has been very active over the last couple of weeks when it comes to their Triple-A affiliate considering the injuries that this team has dealt with early on. Navarro hit a solid .310/.375/.483 over 11 games with the big league club, but there’s no room for him on the roster at this point in time.
Speaking of outfielders, Mike Trout is back in the lineup for the Angels tonight according to Alden Gonzalez.
Gonzalez notes that he missed Wednesday’s game against the Astros after experiencing some tightness in his left hamstring. This is an injury that Trout has been nursing for a couple weeks.
