The Oklahoma City Thunder are in a bad place heading into Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday. They head back home down two games to none to the San Antonio Spurs and are coming off one of the worst losses suffered by any team this playoffs. It’s painfully obvious that the loss of Serge Ibaka isn’t helping the team’s chances at making the NBA Finals, but is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there might be a slight glimmer of hope as the Thunder have now chance the status of Ibaka to “day-to-day.”

So far in the first two games, especially in the last blowout outing, the Thunder have been getting killed in the paint, making Ibaka’s absence shine through rather brightly. Everyone knew coming into the series that the loss of Ibaka would hurt, but not many people thought it would be this obvious.

Ibaka suffered a calf muscle strain in the Game 6 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in their last series, and was ruled out for the rest of the playoffs by the team shortly thereafter.

It’s amazing how a beating the likes of which the Thunder received in Game 2 can change things, isn’t it?
