Will the Texas Rangers move for Kendrys Morales?
The Texas Rangers have been struck with a ridiculous amount of injuries this season. Having spent big money in the offseason, expectations were high for the Rangers, who now sit seven games behind the Oakland Athletics with a 23-25 record. With Prince Fielder becoming the latest star player to fall to injury, will the Rangers move for free agent, Kendrys Morales?

This week, the Rangers were struck with the awful news that Prince Fielder, prized offseason acquisition, will miss the rest of the season. With other key players like Derek Holland, Martin Perez, Geovany Soto and Jurickson Profar all injured, the Rangers team is really struggling. Regardless, a move for Morales could keep them in contention this season.
Stephen Drew and Kendrys Morales, who both rejected qualifying offers, hence tying them to draft pick compensation, were the two big free agents who failed to find a new home during the offseason. With the prospect of losing a top draft pick, many teams were thought to be laying off the prized free agents until the June draft.
Stephen Drew was inked on a one year deal by the Boston Red Sox this week, leaving only Morales left to be signed. With the draft only weeks away, the compensation tied to Morales will soon disappear, making him a very desirable asset for any team, none more than the Rangers who currently need a first baseman/designated hitter.
With the possibility of saving their season, the Rangers are bound to at least make an attempt to sign the Cuban slugger, who hit 23 home runs last year, with the Seattle Mariners. With the draft set to begin on the fourth of June, look for the Rangers to ink Morales.
