After his epic and legendary Game 3 performance in the fourth quarter against the Indiana Pacers in Game 3 on Saturday night, Ray Allen is the talk of South Beach and the talk of the NBA thanks to his age and what he was able to accomplish yet again. Stroking three is pretty much clockwork for Ra Allen at this point in his career but the question we all have his uh ow long will that career continue and just how much does Allen have left in the tank.

More from Miami Heat

Not even Allen knows that, as the Heat guard isn’t thinking about whether or not he’s going to retire right a this moment but a decision is clearly awaiting him in the summer.

"“Do I want to get to the point where you tell me, ‘Look man, you ain’t looking good out there’?” Allen said. “Do you want to get to that point and people start saying that about you?“When Barry Sanders retired, we were all like, ‘What?’ He only played 10 years. We wanted him to play more. But he left on his terms, he was great. Ten was probably early. But you don’t want to get to the point where you are on a downside and everybody’s like, ‘You don’t seem like you have it anymore.’ “"

Should Allen retire this summer, he’ll be ending a career that will no doubt land him in the Hall of Fame one day as he’d go down as one of the greatest shooters of all-time. But we’ve been having this discussion for years when it comes to Allen and so far he hasn’t decided to walk away from the game. It’s something we will one day have to deal with though and that day could be coming this offseason.
