As we approach the NBA offseason, all of the talk in regards to New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony seems to surround where he will end up when he decided to opt out of his contract. Which stars will he join elsewhere? Will it be the Bulls? Will it be the Warriors?

That’s the thing, people are just widely assuming that Anthony’s days in New York are certainly over. Not many people are talking about the possibility of ‘Melo staying in New York with the Knicks and new president Phil Jackson.

According to ESPN New York, Jackson seems to be one of the few people that believe he can keep Anthony with the team by talking him into opting in. Jackson said that he has talked to Carmelo about making that move and staying in the Big Apple, and he was told that he would “think about it.”

Jackson also went on to say that the two have had good communication together, and the talks have been positive.

While, no, it’s not safe to assume ever, it’s still quite unlikely that the Knicks will be able to keep Anthony in the fold. But if Jackson is telling the truth about these conversations, then it’s a step in the right direction.

Now they just have to hire a coach to help in the process.
