The New England Patriots made one of the more publicized moves of the offseason when they signed perennial All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis after he was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. There’s no doubt that Revis will make an impact on that New England defense if he’s able to stay healthy, but will this be the only season that Revis gets to make that impact?

More from New England Patriots

On Friday in speaking to the media after practice, comments made by Revis made it quite clear that he only plans on being with head coach Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the rest of the organization for the 2014 campaign.

“I’m on my career and my journey, and right now, I’m a New England Patriot,” Revis said via the New York Post. “And that’s that.”

Now Revis could return to the Patriots in 2015, however that would entail the team picking up his option, which would cost thhem $20 million.

If only for this season, though, Revis will enjoy his time with the Patriots, probably a lot more than he did with the Jets, which you could tell while he was explaining the differences between the rival organizations.

“From the inside, it’s totally different,” Revis said. “There are things you didn’t expect from how this organization is [run], from top to bottom. You’ve got to take your hat off to [owner Robert] Kraft for how this organization operates. They want to be a winning organization, and I’m happy those guys gave me an opportunity to come in here and be a part of it.”
