NBA Rumors: Indiana Pacers intend to bring back Frank Vogel next season
By Josh Hill
The Indiana Pacers were bounced from the postseason last night by the Miami Heat for the third consecutive year. But their struggles started way back at the All-Star Break and that’s when questions began to be asked about the future of Frank Vogel as head coach of the team.

While Vogel can’t be singled out as the only reason the once mighty Pacers fizzled out so badly in the latter half of the season, the questions about his job security intensified as the woes of the Pacers continued into the postseason.
According to Yahoo! insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Indiana Pacers intend on bringing Frank Vogel back next season as head coach and won’t be firing him as had been speculated since the middle of the season when all of the Pacers’ woes began.
This is probably the right move for the Pacers as it shows they’re not panicking over their second half slide. It was no doubt an embarrassment, but the Pacers made it to Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals and at the end of the day that’s a pretty good season.
Everyone recognized that they were the second best team in the East, despite the No. 1 seed, so that can’t be held against them too much. Had they been bounced in the first round by Atlanta, talk of firing Vogel would have held more water but taking his team deep into the Eastern Conference Finals — especially this team — has seemingly bought Vogel another year with Indiana.
