Wait, what? Lance Stephenson forcing a Kevin Durant turnover?

“Hey idiot, the Indiana Pacers already got eliminated and anyways the Oklahoma City Thunder were playing the San Antonio Spurs.” “Yeah, come on, man. Do you even watch the games?”

I know, I know, that headline sounds weird. But I’m just going off of what I see on the tape. And on the tape I see Lance Stephenson forcing a Kevin Durant turnover. Here, if you still don’t believe me, then why don’t you just check it out for yourself.

Are you still going to try to tell me that I’m wrong after seeing the video?

Just watch it again and maybe you’ll finally understand. Kevin Durant is dribbling up top with the fourth quarter winding down. He makes a quick crossover under pressure from Kawhi Leonard. But then Durant falls down for some reason and loses the ball. It was a strange play in a crucial moment for the Thunder last night, but after seeing the video again, it all makes sense.

This was tremendous help defense from Stephenson. Watch as he leans in right at the perfect second. He gets there just at the right time and is able to defend without fouling as well.

Stephenson’s forced turnover was not enough to win the Spurs the game in regulation however, as they needed overtime to finally take care of business and advance to their second straight NBA Finals, where they’ll once again take on LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
