Boston Red Sox seek record 8th straight win after losing streak
By Cory Buck
The Boston Red Sox have had a roller coaster start to their 2014 World Series championship defense. They’d lingered near the top of the AL East for much of the first six weeks of the season until a ten game losing streak sent them plummeting in the standings. Now, just a week and a half after their tenth straight loss, the Sox have a chance to grab their 8th straight win. If they do, they’ll set an MLB record for their effort.

Fox reporter Ken Rosenthal tweeted as much today:
Even with seven straight wins, the Red Sox sit two games below .500 and six games behind the AL East-leading Toronto Blue Jays. There’s plenty of work to do if the team wants to avoid more losing streaks like this last one that included a Fenway series sweep at the hands of Toronto. In June though, anything is possible in the MLB.
