L.A. Sparks star Candace Parker is being investigated by Los Angeles cops after allegations that she threatened to beat up a male college student.

Parker and her accuser, an L.A. Southwest College kid named Andrew, reportedly were involved in a minor fender bender Tuesday near campus. California Highway Patrol was called to the scene and made a report, and everything seemed fine.

But later in the day, Andrew reportedly showed up at the on-campus gym where the L.A. Sparks train, and all sorts of verbal fireworks flew between him and Parker. Andrew claims that during the altercation Parker threatened to beat him up.

Campus police looked into the matter and decided to send it on to the L.A. County District Attorney who will now decide if charges should be filed. The Sparks are declining to comment on the matter as it involves an on-going legal investigation.

Question of the day: If you are a man and you get into a verbal altercation with a woman during which the woman threatens to beat you up, and your response is to run to the police, can you still call yourself a man? Even if the woman who threatened you probably can easily kick your ass all the way around the block?
