This guy is up for father of the year award.  Perhaps it is just because this happened on Father’s Day.  Perhaps not.  At any rate, this ranks up there with some of the best grabs by fans through the years.

Colorado Rockies star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki hit a home run to left center off of Madison Bumgarner with two out in the third inning. That is when this sunglasses-clad dad caught the ball while coming out of the concourse.  All with a baby on his right arm.  Nice barehand, dad!

We have seen all sorts of acrobatic catches by fans throughout the years.  Kids and adults alike catching a ball in their baseball caps.  Fans using whatever they can think of with split-second thinking like popcorn buckets.  We have even seen some commit the ultimate party foul by not only spilling their beer, but also dumping it out to use the cup!

And who can forget the Astros fan that moved to let his girlfriend take the heat on a foul ball.  It was a lesson for all of us still courting ladies on what not to do.

Still, on this Father’s Day of 2014, one dad makes a grab that has blown up social media.  At least for one day.
