It seems everyone has an opinion on what superstar forward Carmelo Anthony should do once the July free agency period begins, and NBA legend Tracy McGrady is no different.

The seven-time NBA all-star told CSN Chicago that he’d like to see Anthony head to the Midwest and join the Chicago Bulls.

More from Chicago Bulls

"“I would like to see Melo in a Chicago Bulls uniform because it’s tailor-made for him to just fit in. Only thing they’re missing is a scorer,” he said on Monday. “I played for Thibodeau, he’s a hell of a coach, a hell of a defensive coach. You see those guys playing extremely hard for him. What he’s done since becoming the Bulls’ coach has been phenomenal. But the talent he’s associated with, it’s unbelievable."

But McGrady didn’t stop there. He also suggested the Bulls add Kevin Love, along with Carmelo.

"“So you add Melo with those guys — because there are times they can’t freaking score — and have a healthy D Rose come back and possibly get someone like Kevin Love to join them… championship. They could compete for one for sure. But they’ll be a contender if Melo just goes there by himself with what they have and Derrick Rose coming back."

Given Chicago’s financial situation, adding Melo and Love would be basically impossible, so McGrady might be a bit off there.

But his points about the Bulls’ anemic offense are well taken. Chicago finished 28th in points per possession last season, so adding a guy in Melo that averaged north of 27 points last season is a no-brainer.
