Carmelo Anthony will visit the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday, July 1st. The first day of free agency.

The Bulls have been the team most commonly associated with Anthony ever since the end of the regular season and they are also seemingly the most logical fit for the high scoring forward.

Chicago would also appeal to Anthony’s want to play in a big market.

Anthony is then supposed to meet with the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets.

The Rockets just came off a brutal first-round loss to the Portland Trail Blazers and they’re looking to add a third superstar to pair with James Harden and Dwight Howard.

However, Anthony’s fit there is a little more questionable. The Rockets biggest problem last season was defense. Even with Dwight Howard, there were holes everywhere. Anthony, while he’s improved over the years, is not a great defender.

The dark horse of stealing Anthony from everybody is the Mavericks.

Dallas has an owner that will do anything to put a winner around them. They already have a power forward in Dirk Nowitzki, allowing Anthony to play at the small forward, where he seems to prefer and they have Anthony’s former teammate, Tyson Chandler.

Chandler won a Defensive Player of the Year award while playing with Anthony in New York, so Melo knows what Chandler is capable of. There’s also Rick Carlisle, one of the best coaches in the NBA.

Of course, Anthony could always just choose to return to New York.
