  • One team looking to lure in some helpful talent are the Los Angeles Clippers, but they don’t have an abundance of cash to throw at just anyone they want. This isn’t to say the Clippers don’t have money to spend, they just have to go about spending it more conservatively than fans might want.

According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Spencer Hawes is on the Clippers radar but he might prove to be too rich for their blood as the contract numbers he figures to fetch are likely out of the price range Los Angeles is looking at.

Hawes would have been an interesting addition to the Clippers roster and their interest in him sort of tips their hand to what they’re looking for on the open market. Los Angeles isn’t about to pay Hawes $8 million, especially when they might be able to get someone like Jordan hill for the $6.5 million that Hawees made last year or even cheaper.

Still, the Clippers are looking for those missing pieces to their championship puzzle and it might be possible for them to bring Hawes down on his price by selling him the vision the team has for winning a title.
