Los Angeles Lakers rumors: Pau Gasol met with Mitch Kupchak on Tuesday
By Jack Crosby
For all of the growing concern over the past few months that Pau Gasol could be on his way out of the Los Angeles Lakers’ organization now that he’s a free agent, it seems as of late that the thought of him returning to the team is a very real possibility. On Tuesday, the first day of free agency, it seems as if he and general manager Mitch Kupchak had a talk about coming back.

According to a report from ESPN Los Angeles, the two had a sit-down on Tuesday to discuss some matters, which you would think included him eventually re-signing with the team.
For all the talk that he would leave, it was also noted that he and Kobe Bryant have a strong relationship with one another, and despite any issues he may have with management, potentially playing out the rest of his career with Bryant would be reason enough to come back.
It’s also been noted that the Lakers plan to make a run at bringing Gasol back after they are done pursuing the two biggest names on the market, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, so you also have to wonder if the discussion between he and Kupchak today centered somewhat around that strategy.
