Detroit Pistons’ restricted free agent power forward Greg Monroe isn’t valued as high as the upper tier free agents like Miami Heat forward LeBron James or New York Knicks’ forward Carmelo Anthony, the talented big man is still getting plenty of attention in free agency.

More from Detroit Pistons

Although they have big man Paul Millsap under contract for another year and will return their best player, center Al Horford, from injury in the 2014-2015 season, the Atlanta Hawks have expressed interest in Monroe. The Orlando Magic, who locked down an agree from their first free agent of the year when guard Ben Gordon agreed to a two-year, $9 million deal, are said to be “very interested.” The Portland Trail Blazers would love to add Monroe to a front court that already has one of the best big men in basketball and both the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans are discussing the possibility of adding Monroe.

Another team that could get into the mix for Monroe is the Washington Wizards. According to Gene Wang of The Washington Post, Monroe is currently at the Verizon Center, the home of the Wizards.

However, David Aldridge says Monroe is simply their to watch their WNBA team, the Mystics.

It would be tough to get Monroe considering the Wizards are giving Marcin Gortat a five-year, $60 million deal and trying to re-sign Trevor Ariza. Monroe put up 15.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 49.7% from the field and 65.7% from the free throw line last season.
