After a few days of the NBA Free Agency period, the Carmelo Anthony recruiting tour is almost complete. Thursday night, just a few hours after meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony will sit down and have a discussion with his most recent squad, the New York Knicks.

Apparently, since Anthony has the rest of the scheduled meetings out of his system, Phil Jackson and the Knicks, who flew out to Los Angeles to meet with their star, would like him to verbally commit his intent to re-sign Thursday night when they meet.

There have also been reports that Melo would like to take the weekend to mull things over, however we don’t know what has been running through his head, and when he sits down with the Knicks tonight after all the meetings, he could realize it’s the best place for him to be.

So far, Anthony has had meetings with the Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks and the Lakers, all of whom rolled out the red carpet in an attempt to acquire his services. Heck, even Kobe Bryant cut his European vacation short to help come make a pitch.

As time has moved on, though, there have been some that believe while he’s on these visits, Melo is starting to realize that maybe a return to New York isn’t such a bad idea after all.

Could he prove that theory correct Thursday night?
