The Independence Day weekend starts tomorrow and what better way then to release some special 4th of July themed sneakers. The LeBron 11 line released an ‘Independence Day’ shoe.

The shoe’s description on the NBA Store reads:

"A champion needs kicks that are crafted for a king. Designed specifically for LeBron’s game, the Nike LeBron XI basketball shoe promotes spectacular athleticism and game-winning play. The leaner and lower-to-the-ground design enhances aggressive, fast-paced play. Ultra-lightweight Flywire cables wrap the foot and adjust dynamically with your movement. Full-length Nike Zoom Air® Unit and Lunarlon midsole bring an unmatched combination of impact protection and responsive cushioning for on-court comfort. Hyperfuse upper fuses three different layers of material together, resulting in ultra-light support and breathability. Thin, durable rubber outsole enhances court traction and the lateral outrigger adds foot stability during quick cuts."

The interesting thing to note about these shoes is there obviously red, white and blue in the scheme, thought it isn’t as ‘patriotic’ as the shoe could be. With NBA Free Agency underway and everyone reading way too into things, these shoes are being dissected and over-analyzed.

Namely, Cleveland Cavaliers fans thinking the shoes seem to resemble their team’s colors. Of course this is being used as a sign that LeBron, who opted out of his contract with the Miami Heat, could be returning to Cleveland.
