According to Marc Berman from the New York Post, the Knicks are now making plans as though Carmelo Anthony is officially coming back, although they have yet to be made aware of Melo’s final decision.
"According to a source, the Knicks are making plans for Anthony’s second stint and are confident they will hear officially on Thursday, the first day teams can make any deals official. Anthony’s agent, Leon Rose, however, stated Wednesday no decision had been made, and the Knicks have yet to be informed."
There have been increasing reports on Wednesday that Melo will be taking his talents back to the Bronx and that has prompted the Knicks to prepare for his return. Of course, there’s nothing at all official about any of this and there won’t be anything official until Melo publicly states where he’s signing.
Still, the Knicks have been confident this entire time that they’re going to land Melo and this will pretty much be business as usual when it comes to preparing for Melo to announce he’s returning.
