You better believe that Los Angeles Dodgers’ outfielder Yasiel Puig is going to make his first All-Star Game appearance in style. In what is surely the first of a number of fashion statements at the midsummer classic, Puig unveiled his special All-Star haircut on Saturday.

As for what the haircut looks like, well…he had a star shaved into the side of his head. It might be short on creativity in that regard, but it’s still pretty cool.

Puig still manages to draw plenty of negative attention to himself, for reasons ranging from baserunning mistakes to bad routes in the outfield to premature bat flips. Furthermore, he got himself ejected for arguing balls and strikes on the same night that he showed off his new look. Even with all of those Puig moments, however, he deserves to have the focus be on his stellar 2014 season.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Through 88 games, the 23-year-old is batting .306/.394/.522 with 12 home runs and 51 RBI. He plays the the best right field in all of baseball and has been good for 3.3 WAR thus far. Frustrating though some people find his personality or his inclination to “not play the game the right way,” Puig is a big part of the Dodgers’ success thus far and deserves to be acknowledged as one of the best outfielders in the National League.

Between the Home Run Derby and the actual All-Star Game on Tuesday night, Puig will get to showcase his talents and his bat flips in front of a national audience as fans shift their focus to Target Field and all of the festivities for baseball’s midsummer classic.
